A: Toad's Place is a state-of-the-art music and performance venue located in the meticulously restored Lady Byrd Hat Building along the Historic Kanawha Canal. With a proven history & philosophy of "total nightclub entertainment", Toad's Place has set the standard for total entertainment in Downtown Richmond including local artists and nationally-touring acts of diverse musical genres including Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country, R&B, Bluegrass, Punk, Metal, Funk, Soul, Hip-Hop and many others.
 Q: Where are you located and how do I get there?
A: Toad's Place Richmond is located in the Historic Shockoe Entertainment District along the Canal Walk in the Lady Byrd Hat Building.

Q: Where is the entrance to Toad’s Place?
A: Our main entrance is along the Canal Walk. If facing the building from Virginia Street, take the stairs to the left all the way down to the canal level and enter into the canal side entrance main double doors.
 Q: Where can I purchase tickets?
A: Tickets are available online at the Toad's Place Richmond website, in person at our box office, over the phone at 800-514-ETIX (3849), or at any Plan 9 Music or BK Music stores.

Q: Where is the Box Office?
A: The Toad's Place Box Office can be found just inside the double doors (exterior main entrance) along the Canal Walk. More specifically, located in the atrium area just inside our main entrance. Take the stairs to the left if facing the building from Virginia Street and enter into the canal level entrance main doors. From the canal entrance, go up a couple of stairs and bear right around the atrium to reach the box office and the interior main entrance to the venue.
Q: When is your Box Office open?
A: Box Office hours may vary but we are usually open 2 hours before doors open on show nights until 1-2 hours after the show starts.
If the Box Office Attendant is unavailable, then patrons can purchase tickets through the Highwater restaurant .
** Highwater is open for lunch and dinner on show nights.
Q: How does Will-Call work?
A: Your tickets are held at the box office. When you get to the front of the line, give the staff your name and reservation number. You will need to show a photo ID.
Note: Will-Call may not be available more than two hours prior to doors.
Q: If I’m lost, can you give me some landmarks within a stone's throw of Toad's Place ?
A: Siné Irish Pub & Restaurant is just two blocks away and Morton’s Steakhouse is one block away. Other landmarks include the Canal Walk and Turning Basin. La Difference is really close and just across the Turning Basin and the new high-rise condo development called Vistas on the James is right across from Toad's. Toad's Place is located at the end of Virginia Street in Shockoe Slip. If you are not familiar with these landmarks, please print this page and take it along with you to see the show. If all else fails, just call and ask how to get here - 804.648.TOAD (8623).
Q: Where can I park?
A: It is best to park in one of the many paid parking garages or decks within walking distance to the venue...occasionally you will find street parking.
Street parking is not available on Virginia Street once you pass Canal Street. Please park before heading down the block to the venue, as it is narrow and turn-arounds can be difficult.

A: This information is always listed on the detail page for the specific show. Many of our shows are ALL AGES, but occasionally there are shows that have requirements.
